Psychological well-being

Bienestar psicológico

Mental health is a state of well-being that allows people to manage everyday stress, develop their abilities, and contribute to their community. It is closely related to social determinants such as living, working, socioeconomic and cultural conditions. Mental health problems, which can be temporary or acute responses to stressful situations, affect our thinking, emotions and behaviour. In Spain, anxiety is the most common mental health problem and, after the pandemic, an increase in anxiety-depressive disorders and post-traumatic stress symptoms has been observed, as well as complications in pre-existing disorders.

Although psychosocial interventions should be the first treatment option, a large percentage of the population consumes medications such as antidepressants.
